His show hasn't been filmed in New York for well over a year now, but
Conan O'Brien will long be my favorite New York comedy talk-show host. I mean, really: think about all that pasty white skin. Does he look like he belongs in California?
Nevertheless, Conan's staff, Team CoCo, has been busy prepping his brand-new cable show, shot in the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank. To promote the show, they set up
a 24-hour live feed of the Team CoCo offices on Wednesday, complete with staged performances and cameo appearances by Conan himself and perennial sidekick Andy Richter. I watched a good six or seven hours of the total 24. If they were any indication, the show is going to be just as madcap and hilarious as any of Conan's previous shows, which is a very good thing. Here are my favorite screencaps:
| La Bamba makes anything funny, even a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle. |
| What's better than a puppet show? Lots of things. But one of those things is a puppet show and Andy Richter. |
| By far my favorite part of the whole thing: a live mariachi band. And they played "Cielito Lindo"! |
| A dude eating animal crackers. Much like the rest of Conan's material, it's funny for an undefinable reason. |
| The dancing taco. That taco costume is phenomenal. |
| Conan makes an appearance. It is fairly common knowledge that his head really is that big in real life. |
| For the final hour, they brought out everyone. |
